Scholarships

Apply for a scholarship

For the children and grandchildren of Anchorage residents and employees. It takes about five minutes.

Who qualifies

Check if your family can apply

There are two kinds of scholarships, and one application covers both.

Federal credit scholarship

Within the income guidelines

  • The student is eligible to attend a public elementary or secondary school.
  • Household income is not above 300% of area median income.
  • The student is a child or grandchild of a City of Anchorage, KY taxpaying resident, or of a City of Anchorage or Anchorage Independent School District employee.
  • The student attends school in Kentucky.
Gap scholarship

Above the income limit, still want help

  • The student is a child or grandchild of an Anchorage resident or employee, as described at left.
  • Household income is above the federal limit, but your family would still like assistance.
  • Gap scholarships can also help with college assistance, which the federal credit cannot pay for.
  • Funded by additional charitable gifts, including gifts from businesses, as funds allow.

A third-party service confirms household income, and it is kept completely blind. It is never shared with us, to protect your family's privacy. Scholarships can currently be paid only for students who attend school in Kentucky.

  • Your household size.
  • If you qualify as a City of Anchorage taxpayer, your home address in Anchorage.
  • For each child: their name, school, grade, and which school year you are asking for (the remainder of 2026–27, or 2027–28).
  • The dollar amount you are requesting for each child (tuition, fees, tutoring and so on).

Questions

Before you apply

What if my income is over the limit?

You can still apply. Gap scholarships are for families above the federal income limit who would still like assistance, and they can also help with college assistance. Tell us your situation in the application.

Can I apply for more than one child?

Yes. Use "Add another child" in the application. You only fill out your own information once.

Who receives the money?

Scholarship awards are paid directly to the school on the child's behalf. Families don't receive or handle the funds.

Can the school be outside Kentucky?

Not at this time. Because of the regulations currently in place, scholarships can be paid only for students who attend school in Kentucky.

When will awards be paid?

Our first awards are expected in February 2027.
